Myth 4 : Quick Weight Loss
A lot of people are looking for a quick fix when it comes to weight loss. However, we must remember that healthy sustainable fat loss is limited to 0.5 – 1.0 kg of fat per week. Rapid weight loss can result in a lot of loose skin and weight loss which is not sustainable.
Weight loss can be achieved very rapidly by removal of body fluids.
You can do this by over the counter diuretics and herbal teas.
But these are extremely unhealthy and in some cases could be even dangerous. Some of these over the counter weight loss solutions can cause severe damage to the kidneys. What you want to remove is fat, and not water. Dieting with excessive calorie restriction to the point of starvation can also achieve very quick weight loss but bear in mind that the weight will come back with a vengeance once you come off the diet.
Some people forget that it may have taken months or even years to get into the body shape that they currently have and yet when they want to reverse it, they want to do it, almost overnight. This quick fix mentality, keeps a lot of people trapped, in out of shape bodies as they jump from one quick fix to another looking for that holy grail of weight loss.
Body shaping is completely different from weight loss and cannot even be compared. Body shaping is done very much like how a master sculptor would sculpt a statue. It is chiseled a piece at a time. This is the only way to obtain a masterpiece of a body shape.
Body shaping requires time. Just like everything else in nature that is worthwhile, the sculpting of your dream body will also take time. All the habits and mindset that got you in this body have to be changed and this will not happen overnight.
