Myth 3 : Spot Training
Most people are under the misconception that spot training will help them lose fat in a certain problem area. This however is not true. For example, doing 100 sit ups or crunches in a day does not help anyone lose their stomach flab. While the stomach muscles do become toned, the thick layer of fat overlying the muscles will not go away. The fat is stored all over the body like the layers of an onion and will peel off the same way. We cannot lose the inner layers of fat till the outer layers are lost.
Also it is important to remember that the first place a person stores fat is the last place from which he will lose it and vice versa. This means that if a person stores fat in the thighs first, he/she will lose the fat there last.
