Myth 2 : Weight Loss & Dieting Will Give You Your Dream Body?

During weight loss, you will lose some fat but a lot of the weight change is caused by muscle and water loss.

The body can compensate water loss very quickly when you come off the diet.

Muscle loss on the other hand, is more difficult to compensate, as rebuilding lost muscles requires work and effort.

Your body has a “Weight Set Point”, that is controlled by your body, the same way your internal thermostat controls your body temperature. The “Weight Set Point” is your bodys program to stay at a predetermined weight and is influenced by your lifestyle.

The body will make up for weight reduction due to muscle loss by piling on layers of fat. After each weight loss program, you will be fatter than before.

In an excerpt from an article from the International Journal of Obesity in January 2000, it was said that, “Only 2% to 6% of all attempts at weight loss are successful. The average person gains 5 pounds over and above the starting weight for every diet one goes on.” Imagine, piling on an additional 5 pounds after every diet.

How many diets have you been on?

Why even attempt something that has been scientifically proven to be flawed?
