Most people go on a diet with the actual intention to lose fat not weight. However, most people do not know that there is a difference between the two. Fat loss literally means loss of the body FAT ONLY, whereas weight loss means loss of body FAT, WATER AND MUSCLE. Therefore, whilst fat loss is a subset of weight loss, we should be seeking pure fat loss because fat loss is sustainable in the long term whereas weight loss is not.
